Chip Dip
Chip escaped from our fence again today. Those squirrels just drive him crazy and when he wants to, he can scale the fence. He came right back, we were able to lift him right back over the fence again, but it sure is a pain when he does it. Right in the middle of the daycare snack time, so good thing the hubby and son were home, or I wouldn't have been able to go out and get him. I sure wish he would STOP doing this. I think I am going to have to look into electric fencing or something....

A long time...
So it turns out that maybe I am not so good at this blogging thing! Finding the time to get on here and write anything has been tough, but here I am now.
When I started this blog, my brother had just moved in with us, he had a new job here in Indy and was living with us until he got on his feet and could find a place of his own. While he was here, he got a call for another job, a job he had wanted all along. He would be a photographer at Penn State, filming documentaries for their PBS arm, that sort of thing - his dream job with top of the line equipment. So, he ended up getting the job, and he took it, and he left this last Tuesday. I have been feeling so sad, it turned out to be so wonderful having him here with us! It was so nice to have someone home to talk to during the day when everyone else was at school and work, and we have a lot in common so it was fun to talk about the things that we share, especially our love of dogs. I am REALLY going to miss him, and so is Chip. Chip spent almost every night with P.D., he slept in the bed with him, kept him company while he was watching TV or listening to music....Chip loves his mama, but he sure loved P.D. too! It was kind of a tough week, losing our house guest, all the holiday company leaving, and then taking down all the holiday stuff - it seems a little lonely around here!!!
We have a new foster pug, his name is Brewster (what am I going to do without P.D. here to take pictures for me! The pictures on this blog and my other sites will definitely go downhill!!). He is black, 5 years old, and a real doll. Annabelle has let him know several times that she is the boss, poor guy, but he seems to like the other dogs anyway. He is a BIG guy - 34 pounds! We are cutting back on the food for sure! He likes to mark things, so I hope we can get past that at some point, but with three other males in the house, who knows....
Vacation is over - back to normal life on Monday - hopefully I will be able to post more on here....

Here are the pugs - Archie, Annabelle, and Reggie.....

This is the Bug, Chip...
And here is the Springer Spaniel, Lilly.....
How did we get this happy family? Archie and Reggie were purchased from different breeders, they are now almost 9 years old. We got a pug because my son, who was 11 at the time, REALLY really wanted a pug. Archie came first, then Reggie three months later. We couldn't have just ONE - pugs are just too much fun!
Annabelle and Chip are rescues from Kentuckiana Pug Rescue. (KPR) (www.kentuckianapugs.com). Check out our website - this is a great organization...
Annabelle is the QUEEN of the household and we ALL do whatever she wants. There are consequences if you don't, just ask Archie and Reggie... I am the President of the KPR board of directors and she is my "spokespug". She goes everywhere I can possibly take her, and usually in her dress and her pearls. She LOVES to get dressed up and go out and represent her fellow pugs in rescue...
Chip is a recent addition - he came to the rescue from his breeder, and I was supposed to be just his foster mom. BUT - we knew he belonged here with us right away, and with us is where he is. Even Annabelle likes him, no small feat, that....
Lilly is my walking companion. We had a Springer before we had the pugs. His name was Sam, and he was a great dog. A couple of years ago I decided that three dogs wasn't enough (??) that I needed a bigger dog that could walk with me in the evenings, and along came Lilly. She is a good girl and she thinks she is a pug because she has been raised with pugs....
So that is our family - Three pugs, a Bug, and a Springer Spaniel. They (and I) have things to say - things to tell you about life here in Indianapolis Indiana - so here we are with our blog! Everyone is asleep now, so we will begin again tomorrow when we are rested and ready to share our thoughts...
